Connect to Learn is excited to announce that it will be offering a 6 week yoga and art therapy program in the new year! The program will run Saturday's from 10:00am to 12:00pm focusing on a new intention each week. Your child will start the day with a 45 minute guided yoga practice taught by two of Connect to Learn's certified yoga teachers and end the day with a 45 minute art therapy session run by Connect to Learn's certified art therapist. The yoga sessions will work on improving flexibility, self-awareness, self-regulation, and social interaction through"yoga play" which includes games/interactive story telling, breath work, and mindfulness routines. The children will also practice accountability as they will be responsible for their own mat set up and clean up as well as their individual progress each week. The art therapy will offer art directives that focus on communication through art, fine and gross motor skills, improving social interactions, building emotional language through art and dialogue, enhancing self-esteem, developing problem solving skills all while experiencing relaxation and pleasure through the creation of their art.
