July 1, 2017 B.C.’s Ministry of Children and Family Development (MCFD) took on responsibility for providing individualized support to parents and transitioning adults with autism, in addition to the management of the Registry of Autism Service Providers.
The new government service is called Autism Information Service British Columbia (AIS BC)

ACT’s Work Continues
Since the ending of MCFD funding in 2017, ACT’s work has continued. We have focused on our live events, and our online training and information resources: free, evidence-informed resources for the autism and special needs community, provincially, nationally and internationally.

From 2010 to 2019, ACT has developed a wide range of resources:
- Over 140 live events in three languages, in 14 communities across BC;
- 165,000 hours of evidence-based training to 20,000 registrants;
- 60 free online videos are now available via Autism Videos @ ACT;
- ACT’s Autism Information Database with over 1,400 information resources, in multiple languages.
- A Special Needs Community Events Calendar consulted by over 1,000 people a month and open to postings on special needs events from across B.C.
